A poem about space

We all should be able to explore our dreams,

before we as a race run out of steam.

For those who disagree with space,

I ask how we will keep up our growth pace.

Rutan and SpaceShipOne want to fly,

Should we tell them no or ask them why?

I think our government has a purpose in this enterprise,

To build the infrastructure, open the gate and reveal the prize.

And speaking of Enterprise and our generation’s goal,

Tell William Shatner that he must not forget his role.

For nobody over the last 30 years of public relations work,

Has shown us our future better than Captain Kirk.
